ANTI-RAGGING CELL

Any disorderly conduct whether by words (written or spoken) or actions, that cause psychological distress and harm to an individual will be considered as ragging and is strictly banned in the college premises.

Any student found indulging in activities that constitute as ragging, will be dealt with by the disciplinary committee as per the provisions of law.

The Anti-ragging committee involves the higher management members, and shall be re-constituted every 2 years.

Meetings will be conducted regularly, and the members will bringup the feedback/grievances from the suggestions/complaint boxes.

Every complaint received, either verbal or written shall be looked into by the committee at the earliest, in a thorough, responsible manner.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY CELL

The Equal Opportunity Cell of the college ensures that all the students are treated as equal, and attempts to address deep-seated inequalities in our system.

Our college has been actively ensuring that differently abled children are not left behind in the learning process.

The college has given emphasis to different groups that require additional support in learning, and created a comfortable space for them in the mainstream. Awareness programmes are conducted, and auxiliary support is provided towards skill development and enhancement of employability.

The cell, along with Ambedkar Study Centre, creates awareness on the life and vision of Babasaheb Ambedkar, known for his fight against inequality

COMPUTER FORUM

‘Computer literacy’ means the knowledge and ability to utilize computers and related technologies efficiently, covering different skills, ranging from the elementary use of computers, to advanced problem solving.

Being an imperative requirement for students and teachers in any stream alike, MBIMS has formed this Computer Forum to give the students and faculty a better idea of what computers can actually do, and has put emphasis on ensuring that all its students are technologically adept.

Computer forum focuses on events such as online quizzes, short movie making, and other presentations to encourage student participation.

GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL

The Grievance Redressal Cell aims to address all problems and complaints of the students. Its objective is to develop a responsive and accountable attitude among everyone, in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the institute.

Students are encouraged to bring forth their grievances and suggestions either verbally to the committee, or to use the Suggestion/Complaint box. These will be reviewed fairly and within a stipulated period of time as per the rules and regulations of the college and the UGC.

Student sensitivity programmes are conducted regularly, and students are advised against instigating conflict.


PLACEMENT CELL

The Placement Cell has been set up for the benefit of the students. The Cell’s activities are initiated by the teaching faculty, and aims to provide much needed life skills to students and help them get placed.

The College has integrated career guidance with the Cell, and offers guidance to students regarding various higher educational opportunities and their advantages.

The Placement Cell has been providing assistance to students like:

  1. Soft skills training
  2. Knowledge building sessions
  3. Employability training programmes
  4. Awareness on career opportunities
  5. Career guidance by Alumni

SPORTS FORUM

Sport is an integral part of the all-round development of students of the College. The college is keen to implement programmes that promote excellence

The college has indoor and outdoor facilities along with other necessities provided under the supervision of the sports committee.

Inter-class sports events are held every year to identify students who show promise. Students who are keen on sports and show talent are given the opportunity to participate in inter-collegiate sports events.

SEXUAL HARASSMENT REDRESSAL CELL

The college has formed a committee on Anti-Sexual Harassment, as per the guidelines given by the UGC and the Supreme Court. The Cell aims at providing a safe environment in the campus for students, by organizing various awareness programmes.

Guidelines and norms for policies against sexual harassment are made known to the students to promote a social and psychological environment that will raise awareness about the various forms of sexual harassment.

Complaints received are immediately enquired into in depth. The Cell also assists the complainant in seeking legal action.

Creation and delivery of customized awareness programmes and training sessions are conducted for the management, teaching and non-teaching staff, committee members and other concerned parties on a need basis.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL

EDC is initiated to promote entrepreneurship culture among the students by organizing awareness camps on entrepreneurship, students-to-entrepreneurs seminars, guest lectures, workshops and faculty development programmes, thereby educating the students and faculty in the college about the importance of entrepreneurship in real life, corporate world and for the economic development of the country.

Entrepreneurship is shown as a career option, and students are encouraged to become job providers rather than job seekers. This is done by creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem where students learn technicalities of entrepreneurship.

COMMERCE FORUM

The commerce forum is an integrated part of the commerce department. The forum gives an opportunity to each and every student to become young professionals and develop in them a feeling of team spirit. The qualities of a true leader is to set standards for others to follow, and the forum has been instrumental in bringing out the hidden talents and abilities of each and every student and help them to adjust paradigm shift.

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME

The National Service was designed and implemented for the welfare of the citizens of India.'Not Me But You' being the motto of NSS, trains the young minds to serve and work for the betterment of everyone around them. NSS thus is the most sought-after program to guide and drive young Indians in the path of progress, ensuring the nation's development.

NSS is successfully being conducted in our college. Various activities are organized to inspire and enthuse youngsters to beacon social responsibility and welfare of the society we live in.

Youth are the pulsating energy of our nation. To channelize them in the right direction, students are enrolled in NSS. Special camps are organized to create social awareness and involve students in day to day activities of the college. Various social welfare and awareness programs are conducted to benefit the neighborhood of the college.

NSS volunteers along with the guidance and support of Management, Principal, NSS officer and the college staff have been organizing these activities. The encouragement and participation of the Management, Principal, Staff and students alike has made NSS one of the successful programs of our college.

LITERARY FORUM

Language is the medium through which the world communicates. All subjects and logical thinking need to be expressed through language. Hence the educational institutions across the world stress on language development.

At M. Basavaiah College of Commerce and Management studies literary activities are held for the all-round development of students. It is a platform for the young minds to display and hone their literary skills. The Kannada and English departments together hold various skill-based training, learning enhancement and competitions to groom students in language use.

The forum is a springboard for the budding artists, expressive poets and future litterateurs. The students are enthused to write, opine and voice their thoughts using language as a medium. Theatrical activities conducted through the forum set the stage for budding actors.

The forum not only provides opportunity to learn language skills but also instills confidence among students, wards off the stage fear and creates a friendly atmosphere which makes learning and absorption easier. The forum also promotes culture and history thus weaving music, dance and literature together.
